General system settings
Path in CC5: System settings - General
All settings in this section will apply to all system users and readers. The various settings are described in more detail below.
The selected time zone affects the point in time for sending out notifications and times displayed in a change log, among other things. To select a different time zone, click the drop-down menu and search by continent/place.
Changing the default language will affect all the predefined settings in the database. Please note that custom fields and registers, such as contract categories, will not be affected by changes in the language configuration, as they have been designed as text fields that can/must be changed manually.
If you change the default country, this affects the default content of the "Country" field when registering departments, locations, people and area codes, for example. You can change the field manually for each entry in the database.
Select the currency that shall be the standard currency of your system. This is usually your country's currency. All prices will then be displayed in this currency. In case you have the additional module Currencies, you can switch your standard currency here. In this case, e.g. new payment schedules will be displayed in the selected currency.
You can upload an internal procedure with company-specific instructions about what to enter into fields and which list entries to choose. The document will be available for all users on the Dashboard.
You can create a welcome message that is displayed to all users when logging in. You can e.g. use this field to inform employees about news, changes or the division of structure and responsibilities in Complete Control.
Tip!
You can add links and email addresses. Simply write the text in the usual way: The system recognizes the structure (e.g. user@mycompany.com or www.mycompany.com) and opens the email with entered recipient or the website in a new tab. To open a website in the current tab,use standard HTML-coding (e.g. <a href=https://www.mycompany.com> click here</a>).
Comments can be entered under contracts, assets and people.
If Allow to write comments in view mode is ticked, it means that someone with read access will also be able to enter comments.
If the box is not ticked, only system users with modification rights will be able to enter comments.
Read more about the various rights under Access Control.
If you tick Set active status search filter by default, only people, assets and contracts with the status Active will be displayed by default in the overview lists. This is a simple pre-set filter. So, users can easily change it and view Inactive entries, too. However, next time the user opens the list, the filter is switched on again.
A login session will expire after one hour of inactivity (recommended). This interval can be adjusted.
Per default, people with an "Inactive" status (for example, those who have quit or are on leave) cannot log into the database. If desired, this can be overridden here so that "Inactive" people can nevertheless log in.
If PDF files shall have a preview icon with a hint about the content, select Preview PDF as image.
Selecting the date and time format affects how the times are displayed in a change log, among other things. Please note that format changes here will affect the entire database.
Sets the rules for decimals and thousand separators.
The default setting for assets is linear, monthly depreciation with the start of depreciation in the month of acquisition. These settings can be changed to annual depreciation and will then affect all the registered assets with depreciation.
If you choose monthly depreciation, you can choose the start date: the month you acquired the asset or the month after. For yearly depreciation the start date is always the end of the year.
Tip!
You can fine-tune and change depreciation (from linear to saldo) per asset catagory and thus define that e.g. your copy machines use a different depreciation method than your cars. Read more about this under Asset system settings for categories.
Calculation for continuous contracts: If you have continuous contract, the system will create calculations for a certain amount of years in the future. The default setting, that can be changed here, is 5 years into the future. This means: When creating payment schedules for continuous contracts, the system will automatically set a Last due date to 5 years after First due date. The calculation will also be reflected in the reports.
Start of financial year: Set the start of your financial year so that it is also reflected on reports. These settings can be changed and will entail changes to the reports.
Tip!
Generally, it is recommended not to choose a too short time interval for calculating ongoing contracts because in some cases with longer reporting intervals it may look like an ongoing contract has been terminated during the selected period, without this being the case. One solution for a better overview of ongoing contracts in the reports, in addition to the above, may be to select fields for the "Expiration Date" and "Is Ongoing" in the report screen. See Contract reportsfor more detailed information on contract reports.

Here you define the settings for incoming emails. With the optional module Assisted Contract Registration, you also get a separate Inbox in Complete Control for management of all emails.
Email address for incoming emails: Defines the standard receiver address for emails on top level. Usually, the email address would be <your company name>@app.houseofcontrol.com. If you have a Corporate Group Structure, emails sent to this address are only displayed under "Global" and are therefore not visible for companies below. To define emails for the companies below global, see Individual settings per company for incoming mail.

Upon receipt, notify the following people: Defines who shall get notified in case of incoming emails . The notification is displayed below the bell. If not read in time, an email is sent.
Individual settings per company for incoming mails: If you have the optional module Corporate Group Structure, you can set up inbox accounts per companies. Emails sent to a certain company inbox are only available there.
Note!
Email settings for the global company do not affect sub-companies. So, you should define people who will get notified and other settings for each sub-company.
Settings for outgoing emails: If you have the optional module Assisted Contract Registration with Inbox, you can send e-mails directly from the Inbox side menu in Complete Control. If emails shall be sent as plain text only, tick this checkbox.
